Lagos was made more beautiful on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Ikoyi area as Lagos Climate Reality Leaders in collaboration with the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) planted trees to make up for their carbon footprints.

After a luncheon at The George hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, Climate Reality Leaders used the opportunity of the Greening Initiative by LASPARK to register a landmark Tree Planting Act of leadership in honour of African Climate Reality Project Branch Manager, Gillian Hamilton, who was on a work visit in the country.

As if that was not enough, the Climate Leaders also received more support from the Management of LASPARK under the good-natured leadership of Bilikiss Adebiyi- Abiola. Not only did she lend support to the climate warriors’ effort, she exemplified real thought leadership at the luncheon which lasted for a little more than half an hour and culminated into the tree planting activity. Afterwards, Climate Reality Leaders were left with no doubt in their minds that the General Manager of LASPARK is ever ready and willing to do more with them and ultimately drive the LASPARK Greening Initiative to greater heights. “We should do more together as a team”, she said matter-of-factly.

Through the Greening Initiative, the LASPARK which went into full action of greening Lagos State in 2008 is strategically positioning the state for a greener and healthier center of excellence. Little wonder it is said, “Health is Wealth”. That could not be more true!

Climate Leaders, through the assurances of their Africa Branch Manager, avowed to carry out more mitigating and adaptive actions against the devastating effect of climate change on our environment.
